Ingredients:
1 head of cabbage
3 tbsp of bacon grease
½ pound of peeled & deveined shrimp (optional)
6 oz of Hillshire farm smoked andoullie sausage sliced (you can use any sausage you like)
1/4 cup of chicken broth (you can use water also)
1 yellow or white sliced onion
6 strips of bacon
1 tsp Slap Ya Mama Cajun seasoning
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp garlic power
2 tsp salt
1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
½ tsp pepper

Slice cabbage into 4 equal parts. Remove the hard white stem in the cabbage and throw it away.

Then slice each quarter of cabbage into 1- 1 ½ inch wide strips.

In a large pot on medium heat, cook diced bacon until golden brown

Add sliced onions, then add sliced sausage. Cook sausage until its brown on each side.

Next, add cabbage and chicken broth. Let cabbage cook down. (The size/volume of the cabbage will decrease the longer you cook it)* if you are adding shrimp, add them now. Be sure to stir and mix ingredients thoroughly.

Add seasonings then stir and mix ingredients again so that nothing sticks to the bottom.

Cover and reduce heat to low heat. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until cabbage is tender.

*be careful removing lid/cover from cabbage; possible steam
