Woodworking : DIY Fireplace Mantel Surround // How To Part 3

Third part of a series detailing how I made a simple Shaker Style fireplace mantel and surround. This build was made in two parts with the legs separating from the mantel header for easier installation. Build was made primarily from composite lumber (MDF, Plywood) in order to limit seasonal expansion/compression of the lumber. Trim was made out of solid lumber. Part one details make the Pilasters and Mantel header. Part Two and three will detail work on the Mantel top, making all the trim, final assembly, and finishing.
