DIY: HOW TO BUILD A BBQ KITCHEN ISLAND | CHEAP! COMBINING WOOD BURNING AND GAS GRILLS

So, it's such a beautiful day here in California and what better to do than BBQ? We love our tri tip here in Santa Maria and we certainly love grilling. We usually have a gas grill and a Santa Maria oak grill for entertaining. I've been wanting to combine the both together for quite some time now and today is the day!!! I had my friend, Brooks, with Brooks Construction come over and do the dirty work. I'll be mudding and tiling tomorrow. Can't wait to start grilling!!!

Here are the materials and supplies used for this project...

3 1/8 inch 2x2 20ft iron "L" beams
10 2x4 wood
9 cement boards (wonderboard)
lath screws
cement screws
wood screws
pop rivets
hammer drill impact
screwdriver
miter saw
pop rivet gun
level
3/16th drill bits

Let me know if you have any questions. Or if you're in the area and need a quality construction guy, Brooks is it! Affordable and so precise.

Next!...it's time to tile and mud. Stay tuned!!

Thank you so much for watching!!!
